200 million years of history - mixed up in our jurassic geology? Walking - yes, you can walk anywhere but just where can you walk to enjoy unspoilt clifftops, fishermen's coves, rolling hills, tumbling streams, thatched villages tucked up in velvet green valleys? Trail nature - or it'll trail you in this tip of west country heaven.
Ideal walking vacations will doubtless feature Heritage Coastline walks, Seaton Gardens and stately parkland that adds the human touch to a dream landscape cornering Devon.
Of course, you could just relax on the beaches and soak up the sun and atmosphere of the small towns and villages that dot the Bay. But be careful - you may succumb to our spell and find yourself returning year after year after year (but be assured - you wouldn't be the first).
Day Trip by boat or by car along the coast coast to visit Seaton, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Beer, Exmouth and Portland Bill. This may be unspoilt England but good shopping is never far away in Exeter, Taunton and Yeovil.
Play golf? Play it with some of the finest views in England at Seaton's clifftop golf club, rising above the Axe estuary. If fishing is your therapy, then choose between the foam of the sea or the bubble of the streams and rivers rushing to meet the sea
